Sorry, such a Newby! How to burn DVD for TV???

I am SO sorry that I'm such a dummy. I'm trying to help my daughter for a school project, and I feel like an idiot.

We created a great movie in Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum.

Now I simply want to burn it to DVD, so her classmates can watch it on either their home TV sets (with their DVD players), or on their computers (if it has a dvd player.)

I can watch the movie just fine when I use "Preview in Player" from Movie Studio. But I am totally baffled about how to burn it to CD with Movie Studio or DVD Architect.

Can anyone give me a total dummy version of step 1, step 2, step 3, etc.?

Than you!!!!

Export your movie as a DVD quality MPEG from Vegas.

In DVD Architect, go the File menu and select New. Then choose the Single Movie option and browse to add your MPEG. Then click the Make DVD button.

If you want a DVD with menus, it gets a little more elaborate. But it's a bit more than can be explained in a forum post.

If you're looking for a book on how to use the program, step by step, I've got one on Amazon.

Thanks for the quick reply! I followed the steps you outlined, and I'm able to view the DVD on TV and computer! (The only thing that's a bit disappointing is the quality of the video and audio are much, much worse than when I view the native file from my hard drive.)

I've left the default template when creating the movie in Vegas Movie Studio, and followed your steps precisely. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

(btw, I'll make sure to order your book so I know what the heck I'm doing!)

What are the image size, and bit rate of the export template (both video and audio)?

What was the native film shot on?

Hurray! We've figured it out, and it looks great. Thanks again!

Just so others might learn from this thread, what did you find out that fixed it?
