Good question Jim. I believe the only way the postings appear is in order of most recent contribution. As you probabaly already know, this posting will jump to the top of the list because I am contributing this response. Then when someone else contributes to another posting, that one will jump to the top.

You can click on each user name and drill down to all the postings from that user and those are sorted in descending order. You can also search and specify user names, forums, and date ranges. I sometimes search on a user name when I remember a certain user has contributed a technical detail that I want to review but I don't have a good date range or recall the exact name of the thread.
