Ivy 3770k, which is the Ivy version of the 2600k looks to be about 9% faster in x264 first pass encode and nearly 14% during second pass. Lower power consumption as well and is supposed to work with current Z68 and possible some "P" boards as well. Nice easy upgrade for probably a 10% or more boost in performance. If you're coming from a 2500k then it'll be more like 25% increase or more.

Also will work with Asus P8H67 board.
10% increase is not so much, what is more interesting
that this is with lowe power consumption.
And IGP is what will be really faster!

We need Quicksync support in Vegaaas!

Good points. The lower power consumption/thermals should make overclocking very good.

In addition, I don't know if this on-board GPU has the power to accelerate Vegas but I'm thinking we'll be there with Haswell next year.
