Thompson showed of their new HD camera at IBC, now I doubt I'll ever afford one but what it records to appeals to my simple Aussie logic:

You can get a glimpse of the camera here:

Like I said at $20K not cheap but not that expensive either but the real point is the thing avoids all the dramas of P2/BluRay/Whatever else we can dream up to grab you by the short and curlies from the other manufacturers.
The Rev drive does sound kind of attractive as a medium for storing projects to.
Bob.

Attractive approach. The Canon LX1 HD could (in theory) use this hardisk because it has an uncompressed output port.

The system is based on the same technology as their Turbo (former M Product line) gear, and it's pretty good. But the bigger news from Grass Valley is the MPEG 4 stuff to camera, which IS Blu-Ray ready, and very integratable with past, present, and future systems.
We had the Turbo here for just over 2 weeks testing it out, and the Rev (Iomega) works quite well in that system. Grass Valley's Utah team and Iomega seem to be working very tightly on a lot of new innovations regarding portable storage. (Iomega is also Utah company)
