SOT: Previz software

I say Sort of Off Topic having been drawn into the vortex of shooting a drama and having to imagine how all the shots might cut together whilst also trying to wrangle the issues that would be the camera dept. role. Not helped by the director making it up as we went :(

Seems from a quick Google that Frameforge is the go. I recall some disussion a while ago about Antics but it seems kind of dead. Frameforge isn't cheap but compared to the effort that can be wasted without proper shot planning it seems a no brainer to me. Oddly enough the person whose project this is has already bought Final Draft and it would have helped if she'd used it. She said it was "too much work". <insert sound of Bob screaming>

Thanks Nick,
I think I have a free "LE" version of iClone kicking around somewhere and it does get a mention in my searches. Even Poser and Bryce has been used for serious productions. This is not so much for me though so it needs to be easy to use and "direct" for planning shots for narratove drama.
I just finished watching the basic promo video for Frameforge and it really does seem like the designers have done their homework. Price isn't too bad,

Bob.

I use Frameforge and and Google SketchUp. I use SketchUp to create objects that I need in the storyboards and import them into FrameForge.
