Sound capture help

WinXP/1gigRAM/Vegas5/Sony TRV30 Cam

Today I captured 121 clips from the camera, When I loaded them on the timeline the sound was way off...sounded as though it was in slow motion. I added 'pitch shift' and raised it up a third and it sounded pretty good. Is this a setting issue? This is the first I have uploaded any clips to Vegas 5 on this WinXP box. I NEVER had this happen on the Win98se/vegas 3 or 4 version.

I would greatly appreciate any help or guidance.

Never mind--I changed the sound device to "Direct Sound Mapper" and all is well again.

I have another question if someone would be so kind as to advise me: In the Preferences/sound device selections, I also have a choice for SB Audigy 2ZS ASIO 24/96 [800]. Have I taken the correct device or should I choose the Audigy selection? Thanks.
