Sound card

I need a new soundcard for use with Vegas on a WinXP Pro pc. I would like to do 5.1 surround projects at some point. I have tried a Hercules, Creative and Turtle Beach Santa Cruz and I would like something a bit more professional. Any suggestions for a card?

I would highly recommend the M-Audio Delta 1010. It's very stable, sounds decent, and gives you plenty of flexibility. It's got 8 analog ins, 8 analog outs, plus S/PDIF stereo I/O and work clock.

It's fairly inexpensive, too.

I got rid of mine a while back when I bought a digital console, and I've been kicking myself ever since!
