Folks,
This one is really weird. I just completed building a brand new machine to replace my aging one. It has a Sound Blaster Audigy EX sound card in it. What is really weird is that about 50% of the time I use Vegas, the sound card dies, thats right, DIES!
I'll launch Vegas, start to play a project and all of a sudden the sound stops coming out of my speakers. It will stay like this forever until I uninstall the sound card's drivers, reboot, and re-install them. The machine will be just fine until I run Vegas 3.0c again. The speakers are connected to the SPDIF output jack. When I plug headphones into the headphone jack of the card, I get sound just fine so only the digital output seems to get crippled by Vegas. The SPDIF decoder is not complaining that there is no signal, just that it is silent.
Is there any hope of resolving this?
Thanks
Jonathan
