What kind of noise is it--do you have the noise reduction software that Sony sells--it might be your only hope--it does okay with air condition hum etc--not sure how it will do with your specific flavor--let me guess--you have the noise of the cable hitting the pole?

My cheap ways: I'm using a steal pole and a little tripod piece ( for easy movement of the mic) to attach the mic on and a bit on it taps when the wind blows - and i didn't have my damn gaffer tape with me! I have fixed it since.

Even if you don't have tape twirl th epole to wind th elead around it.

Yeah, I know, great idea and where was I when you needed me.

You can get the wind noise with Noise Redux, but the tapping is a constant, not an incidental sound, so it will take clever editing to get rid of it. If it taps during a vowel for instance, or a soft consonant, you're screwed. One of those "gotchas" that we've all had and will have again.

I don't shoot that much, and those "gotchas" just killed me on a couple of projects -- so much so that I finally sucked it up and bought a proper boom (Gitzo) and mic suspension system (Rycote). Man, what a difference having proper equipment makes....
