Sound Leveling

I have an audio clip within my timeline that is recorded at a higher volume and I would like to drop the volume on this specific clip to match the rest of the project. I cannot figure out how to do this without changing the volume for the entire project.

Also, is there a way to manually change the fade in or fade out slope for a music clip. I can't find a way to manually change it, only the basic ones already set up.

Thanks for your help

You've got a number of options - the easiest is to grab the top of the audio clip and drag it down. If you want more control, select the audio clip and type V - this will give you an audio envelope. If you double click on the blue line you can add handles and then drag the volume up and down between them.

You can also grab the top corners of audio clips and drag them in to adjust the fadein / out. Right clicking on the fade will allow you to change the shape.

To lower the sound of an individual sound clip place the cursor at the top edge of the clip; it will turn into a down arrow. Just drag toward the bottom of the clip to lower the sound.

To alter the length of a fade in place the cursor at the top left corner of the clip; it will change into a curved sided rectangle. Drag right as far as you like to produce a longer fade in.
