Turn up the volume, maybe? Not trying to be flip at all, but if the volume is low, turning it up is how you get it louder. Vegas 9 isn't in any way different from Vegas 8 in this respect. I suspect that you may have turned up the master levels in your version 8 installation at some point and either didn't realize it or have forgotten doing so. Your new version 9 installation is still at the default setting.

Thanks, but I have raised the master and preview volume and still have low volume coming out my speakers. When the project is burned to DVD the sound levels in playback are fine, its just when you are working on the project the levels are low.

Could be nothing to do with Vegas but everything to do with the amplifier that powers your speakers.

On your PC task bar, Open Volume Control and turn it up.
