Sounds in Themes

Hi everyone,

I just picked up Movie Studio + DVD today and am playing around with the themes that came with DVD Architect Studio. I see a box on the right side of the work area called "background audio", and one of the buttons is ""From Theme". Clicking on this button doesn't do anything. Do these themes have background audio? I'm trying to figure out if I've installed something incorrectly.

Thanks,

Gary

Themes can include audio, but Sonic Foundry / Sony didn't happen to do so for any of the themes they shipped. If you'd like to your own audio to any themes (or create your own themes), see Sony's themes page. For Movie Studio+DVD, you'll probably want the DVDA 1.0 theme specifications. (Anyone confirm? Can themes for DVDA Studio be edited, and if so, do they follow DVDA 1.0 specs?)

Thanks for the reply Bstro. At least I know I'm not missing anything I should have. For now I'll use the sounds files I got with Roxio's EMC7 DVD Builder Themes. That will get my current project done (a DVD with a slideshow for my son's first birthday).

Thanks again,

Gary

One thing to be careful of related to this. It is true that audio can be part of a theme, and also that none of the supplied themes have audio.

A side effect of this that bit me: I added a bunch of audio on my menus etc, then decided to load a theme to change the look. Doing this removed all the audio I added (i.e. audio is part of the theme, and as the theme had no audio, it removed my audio).

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the tip. I could see myself doing something like that and then going DOH! afterI lost all my music. Luckily for me I had everything set up the way I wanted it and I only had to add the music to the project I was working on, so I didn't run into this "feature". I'll definitely remember this for future projects. I might even go ahead and edit the existing themes to add music to them if I get bored.

Regards,

Gary
