Special DVD Authoring Problem

Hi everybody.
I have a "problem" concerning DVD Authoring:
I need a DVD that will present a different content when inserted into a pc drive.
When you do so, you have to be able to select either the single movie (that will automatically play when you insert it into a DVD player), or a program (which I will get from a customer and simply save on the DVD).

With what program can I manage that? Has anybody worked with macromedia director for that purpose?

Thanks for any help

You can include additionla files on a DVD, DVDA 3 will do this for you however you need to create those files in some other application.
Which application to use would rather depend on what they have to contain. But you may hit a snag, if the PC has a DVD drive then it most likely has a DVD player app soo I'm not too certain what's going to happen, probably they might both run?

thanks for your reply.

I think I may have been a little imprecise.

The program is some sort of a planner. It allready exists, I just need to start it by a click, which I can´t do out of a DVD Menu.

I have allready created some DVD´s that start as wanted on a DVD player, and starts a program, if inserted into a PC.

But: I need some sort of menu, where the user can choose between the Movie, and the program.
I can´t do this with Macromedia Flash or html, as far as I know.

Thanks again,
Wolfgang

Search this forum or the web for eDVD which will allow you to add all kinds of content

hi rudi, thanks for the tip. That seems to be a good way. Do you have any experience with this program?

Is it possible to make your own layout, as you can with DVDA3?

Thanks again,
Wolfgang

It's a nice tool and it surely would be great if this could be done from within DVDA - perhaps it's a good idea to mail to Sony's "Product Suggestion" ?!

eDVD doesn't create a layout. First you prepare your project in DVDA.
After that you open the prepare folder in eDVD which then shows you the chapters that you assigned. From there you can link all kinds of different stuff.
Please note that the "enhanced" part of the dvd will only work on a computer.

And only using the Interactual player provided (which gets installed on your computer). Other software players do not have the enhancements that are used to trigger the additional content.
