One of my WD external hard drives has gone bad. I am trying to save about a week's worth of work on two weddings. When I try to copy files from the bad hard drive to another hard drive I receive the message "cannot copy filename because of I/O device error.
How can I get these files (about 200 GB) from the bad drive to the good one? Is there a way to get around the I/O device error.
If not, I have been able to copy the veg files for both of my wedding projects. My question is this? If I recapture the tapes on another drive and try to open the veg files that have already been copied can I just "specify a replacement file"? I would rather lose a day recapturing tapes than lose a week's worth of work.
Thanks,
Chris
