Split or recompress project

Some time ago I completed a DVD project that was 5.2GB in size. I used a DL DVD as a single layer was obviously to small. The client has now asked for 50 more copies. The problem is I do not have the Vegas (.veg) file. I only have the DVDA (.dar, ac3 & mpg) file. The client would like me to split the project on 2 single layer DVD's. My question's:
1. What would be the easiest way to split the project if I only have the DVDA files?
2. Can I further compress in DVDA from 5.2 GB to 4.7GB and if so, how do I do it?
3. Can you import a ac3 file into Vegas?

I placed this questions in Video forum as well and I hope I do not sound stupid.

I'd suggest first that you try using DVD Shrink to shrink the prepared files (that's not the DAR, AC3 and MPG, but rather the final VOB and IFO files) to fit on a single DVD. DVD Shrink is pretty good at getting DVD files down to size without sacrificing quality.
