Split Screen

Could someone tell me if they have been succesful doing a split screen shot with 2 video clips (like a before and after) and how you achieved it.

I think a quickie would be to use one of the split screen transition (slide, barn door, etc) and just set it to 50% (half way) for the duration of the clips. That would also let you slide the 2nd image in and out as desired.

Track motion should do this as well fairly easy. You can use a overlay with a black or white bar down the middle for looks.
