Split Screen Effect using Keyframes?

Newbie coming off VideoFactory 2.0 here with a (presumably) simple question dealing with wipes and keyframes...

I want to put a simple effect of a split screen between two video clips for all of maybe 10 seconds. Looking at the Help on wipes, it says a split screen is possible using keyframes to hold the wipe in the middle (or thereabouts). I've read and read and read about keyframes, animating, the Hold, Linear, Fast, Slow and Smooth interpolation curves and tried experimenting with the keyframe controller and I'll be dipped if I can make heads or tails out of how to do it. The wipe just continues from start to finish without a care in the world.

I know it's probably something blatantly obvious, but I just can't wrap my head around this one. Any help will be appreciated. Thanx!

Peace;

Hi PT,

Actually, it is not quite that simple... but it is not hard either!

Take a peek at the "Split-screen" tips at the page below:

Thanks! That looks simple enough... I hope it seems that way when I actually TRY it. ;)

I'll have to experiment more with VV. I don't even know where half of the bells and whistles are to begin with (but, then, I only got Vegas a couple of days ago). I have your site bookmarked for easy reference.

Thanks again!
