Split screen in Video Vegas

tekhead wrote on 10/30/2003, 2:08 PM
I shot some video using two different cameras at two different angles. I'd like to show the two angles simultaneously on the same screen as part of a small movie clip I'm making (similar to the TV show 24 if anyone's seen it). This will be a burned to DVD. Is video vegas capable of doing this? Does anyone have any suggestions on how to display the two streams onto the same screen?

Your help is greatly appreciated,
Tekhead

You can use Track Motion or Pan/Crop to resize as needed.

Hey Sony,

How about an posting an FAQ? It would be a great, quick resource for folks who want to dive right into the product.

Well I know I have to resize the clips so they can both fit on the screen but how do I get two seperate streams to show up simultaneously on one screen?

Put them on two separate video tracks.
Use pan/crop or track motion to change the size of the event on the top track.
You should now see the event on the bottom track underneath.
Use pan/crop or track motion to change the size and position of the bottom track.

Tekhead, if you are still having challenges doing this, there are many veg files on the Sundance site that teach this technique. It can be done w/Pan-crop, Track motion, or masks among other techniques.
