Split screens?

I have been working on a new movie and I was wondering how to create a horizontal split screen between two clips. I have read some help files but I don't see how to make it look clean.

set up the two (or as many as you like) clips in the timeline over each other and use the event pan/crop to position and resize the clips. synching up the clips to audio track should be easy.
