Spot, any tips on "lessons learned" making s/w DVDs?

Hi Spot, got your 2nd DVD, it's great re vegas 5 from the vasst site.

Quick question, I'm also going to produce a series of software how-to DVDs (not for Sony s/w), I have legal clearances (finally) from the publishers, wondering if there's any lessons learned you'd share with me, as I get started creating mine for commercial release?

eg "If you had it all to do over again, you'd ... "? types of things ... curious if you have any quick tips you could share.....

Your 4-dvd set came out perfectly, eg good work w/application screencaps (direct videohead out one laptop to capture in vegas live on another pc..or?)... I was thinking maybe using camtasia to capture software screencaps in uncompressed avi output, then drop into vegas for editing?

your lighting was great too, and the backdrops etc... excellent work .. appreciate any pointers... I'm going to spend the next 4-5 months working on software training dvds... I'd like to create some as high-quality as you've produced... or at least aspire to it.... top quality in your DVDs...

Are you coming to the training in Honolulu next week? I'd be happy to share. We've recently invested in some new tools that make this even better yet, you'll se a huge diff in the Introduction to Vegas 5 and the Introduction to DVD Architect 2 DVDs, not to mention Volumes 3 and 4.

Hi, I wish I could, but I've relocated to Colorado Springs, CO so I'm no longer in Honolulu ... I'll attend one if you're ever in the Denver area though..

Catch up with you at Sydney VASST, would sure love to know what tools you're using, I've had training / promo deal in the pipeline for a long time now and one of the things holding me back was getting first class results. Nothing to do with video, training for hospital staff!

Gosh, I loved that show. I wonder if Spot will need to use the "Cone of Silence" in order to tell you the secret? ;-) (sorry, its late... long day)

Ken, would you like to sale your used VASST dvds? I know a couple of INDfilm persons that could used some good training, at a slower rate, that the VASST tour. I got them away from FCP, but they are low-budget. I thought they were going to the Orlando VASST training, but back out at the last second, the insurance on they project is killing them..

I like the ULTA examples you did, I see that you use it in your promotions and they look very professional.
