Stability Vegas 16

I'm getting pretty grumpy over here with Vegas 16..

I've succesfully rendered a very complex project in Vegas 16 that I started in Vegas 15 yesterday without any problems so I decided to give 16 the benefit of the doubt and started a new project from scratch in 16 now.

One would say that it must be better to have a project that is Vegas 16 from scratch, but no, vegas has crashed on me 5 times already now during playback of a timeline with 3 4k video tracks, where the project I did yesterday was filmed with the same setup. (2 weddings)

I don't understand what's causing these 'freeze and then crash' moments, Vegas 15 has the freezes too, but almost always comes back after it freezes for a few seconds during playback, 16 doesn't.

Any tips? I already disabled GPU rendering. I remember disabling something with a DLL that used to be a problem in Vegas 15 but if this also needs to be done in 16 how can they not have fixed this?!?

Marcel

Did you already tried to slow down a bit with clicking on different objects or settings?

Wouldn't that be kinda ridiculous? That a program would not be ready for a fast user who works faster than the software can handle? Thats the reason why you buy a superfast computer isn't it, to be able to work faster... :D

I did notice that timeline playback is improved very much when I stop playing, wait and start playing again.
In the waiting period my data disk activity can be heard and when it stops, the playback is faster, however the taskmanager NEVER shows any heavy disk activity at all, it's not above 10% ever.

It's just SO annoying to have to deal with software that is not stable, I was just getting used to a somewhat stable experience with 15...

It did however find something in my eventviewer that might be useful information, it happened right around the time Vegas did the freeze& crash, does anybody know what this is :

(id 916: DllHost (17316,G,98) The bètafunctie EseDiskFlushConsistency is turned on in ESENT as a result of the settings 0x800000 in the bètasitemodus.)

I don't understand why you never switched over to Adobe.
All the years you posted on this website you were complaining about the instability of the new versions from Vegas 8 on and you threatened to switch to Adobe but never did it. Why not?
My advice is to stay at Vegas 15 with your " somewhat stable experience". 😇
