Stabilized clips playing as unstabilized

My C: drive crashed and all my programs were subsequently re-installed. Windows was upgraded to Win 7 Home premium from Vista Ultimate (clean install). Following re-installation of VMS HD Platinum 10, I now find that when I load previous projects the previously stabilized clips play as if they are un-stabilized. The files are identified as stabilized sub-clips and are recorded as such in the project file media bin created for that purpose. If I re-stabilize a clip a new stabilized clip is created alongside the original (stabilized) clip and plays fine. Can anyone explain this? Do I have to re-stabilize every clip that was originally stabilized (it's a 50 min movie)? The project files were saved on a separate drive (not C:) - Is there a directory on the C: drive where data re stabilized clips was referenced, which may now be lost owing to the crash?

Right click one of the clips in question and under properties, general you can see where Vegas thinks that the equivalent clip should be.

Thanks for the reply - Under properties the file name for any stabilized clip is named as "#####.m2ts - sub-clip 1/2 etc (stabilized)" under the media tab but refers to the parent file "#####.m2ts" under the general tab. The location of the file(s) is shown correctly as on my data drive (F:). Should I re-stabilize this or any other previously stabilised clip the properties info remains in the same format as above? I've re-stabilized 1 clip and I now have 3 choices using right click and take - parent, sub-clip #1 (stabilized) of parent and sub-clip #2 (stabilized). Sub-clip #2 is the one I have re-stabilized following re-installation of the program and is the only one that plays as "stabilized". I'm at a loss to explain this and is very frustrating. Any suggestions welcome.

Just an idea: is it that the unstabilized clips are the "active" takes? if so you should be able to make the stabilized subclips The Active Take ??

Thanks for the thought but the "active" take is the supposedly stabilized clip, which is named as such but does not play as stabilized. Also when I right click on the "stabilized" event in timeline and click stabilize media the remove box is greyed out so VMS is not recognising the clip as stabilised, even though it is named as such? Weird, anyway it's got me beaten and I guess I might as well bite the bullet and re-stabilize all affected clips - what a pain but thanks for the ideas
