Try using the private offered patch over at VegasVideo.de. There has been done some improvements to this patch the last days and in my case it even helps curing the stabilize bug you mentioned.

You can proof if the patch does work by selecting Tools/Extensions/Antares Fixes. Chances it cures even some more keyframe bugs are better in build 511 than them are in build 510.

Yes, I'm getting exactly the same problem with stabilized clips looking even more jerky after closing and re-opening Vegas.11_425.

This is really annoying because the stabilization works well as soon as it is applied.

When, oh when, will we have a version 11 that is stable and usable????

Same thing, with build 511.

I recent projects I even found that if you:

1) apply the stab
2) render (here the stabilization is fine)
3) make some changes in the project (not necessarily on the stabilized event)
4) render again

then, stabilization has gone away. I have to remove the media effect, reapply it, recompute it every time, and on each stabilized media.

A pity, because I agree with gripp, the result is great when it is applied.

Seem to be fixed on 520/521.
gripp wrote on 1/20/2012, 3:31 AM
Not for me it hasn't!!

And there was no mention of the Stabilizer bug in the 521 release notes.

I am really disappointed that "show stopper" has not yet been fixed.

Shmuel, what was your workflow?

It's not working for Fred nor gripp. Maybe you have a different workflow or using different video or pref templates.

Cheers

fwiw, I'll repeat the following principle that doesn't fix all of the bulitin Sony Stabilizer ills, but sometimes it helps:

When stabilizing video in Sony Vegas 11 using the internal stabilizer or Mercalli V2, best results are obtained when matching properties of source footage, project properties and render properties. If render properties must be different, render to an intermediate or a new track.

It does not fix the problem where the user will save a project, and re-open with stabilization gone - sigh!

Is everyone working with the latest build of Mercalli 2.0? I wasn't . Read on.

I had the very same bug with lots of stabilization applied to Cineform avi's in Build 521 using the purchased version of Mercalli 2.0 plugin. That is, I applied stab, looked great., closed project, reopened, and stabilized clip was jerky until I restabilized.

Then I downloaded the latest version of Mercalli (2.0.96, released January 11, 2012), which I would have never seen from proDad unless I cared to look for an update. Using this latest service update, it appears so far that my stabilizations are holding between closing/reopenings of projects in Build 521. proDad doesn't mention any improvements in the service update with respect to Vegas, however.

I wonder if anyone else would care to try the latest release of Mercalli and report back? I'm still testing.

All we need now is to hear back from Shmuel that he/she updated to the latest Merc. and we would be home and dry-ish.

But as Shmuel has only posted 4 times in Vegas Video Forum in the past 10 years, I ain't holding my breath.

Knock knock? Anybody home??!
