Start and audio tracks

Whenever I start a new project in Vegas or add a new audio track it automatically inserts three track effects: Noise Gate, Equaliser and Compressor. Needless to say I don't want anything at start up and there has been one time when I forgot to remove them manually and they affected the audio quality. How can I remove them from being automatically inserted with new audio tracks? Thanks John I

This is the default in Vegas. I am not sure about how to keep those from automatically being applied to audio trtacks. I have always seen it as a GOOD thing.

Remove the three effects, then right-mouse-button click on the track header and click Set Default Track Properties. Make sure Track FX is checked, then click OK. You can use this method to set up your own particular defaults if you wish. Whatever you set here will become the new default for all added tracks of the same type.

Got it thanks. Was making the mistake of not checking the FX box thinking this would remove any effects. But as you say above FX must be checked to adopt the values of the current track. Many thanks for your help - John I

The default settings make no changes to your audio; they are there for your convenience (if you need them, it's nice to have there there instantly). You can clear them off a track, right click on the track header, and set defaults if it bothers you that they are there.
