When I try to record a track with Vegas Audio I get a light but very audible static. As soon as I arm the track to record and VA starts to monitor I can see the static on the VU meters. I have the same problem with WaveLab. It doesn't matter if I have anything plugged into the sound card input or not. When I record through SoundForge or even MS Sound Recorder there is no static and the sound is very clean. Before posting this message I did a search back through the forum and found someone else with a very similar problem. There were a couple of unhelpful responses (You don't how to set up VA properly, read the manual,.....). I've read the manual, tried the troubleshooting and tried many configurations. I'm only using a Creative Labs AWE 64 but why do SoundForge and MS Sound Recorder record so cleanly. I'm running on a AMD/K63/450 with 192 meg of RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX with 32 meg, 800x600 32 bit. Has anyone else ever had this problem and/or found a solution? Thanks.
