Static on 24 bit bounces!!!

Setup: Vegas Pro 1.0b @44.1kHz/24bit to MOTU 1224 (clocked
PCI324 INTERNAL). AES OUT to t.c. electronics M5000 (set
to clock to its INPUT), then back to MOTU 1224 AES INPUT.
The AES INPUT is mapped to the analog MONITOR OUT in the
MOTU console.

The resultant recorded files have high end static/aliasing
(almost as if they drift in and out of 8bit mode) in SOME
cases.

This setup has been working flawlessly for some time, but
now exhibits this problem frequently.

***This problem began when VEGAS had problems recording at
24bit while playing back through this external loop...VEGAS
began playing random bits of audio from the cue in random
order. It was as if VEGAS was having trouble writing to
the HD due to fragmentation, etc. Surface scan revealed no
disc problems.

VEGAS has now begun to allow tracks (through different
analog output busses) to drift out of time with one another
during playback alone...

ANY IDEAS??? This is crippling 2 projects at current...

I plan to attempt a reinstall, though I'm not sure how that
will help...

Thanks in advance.

The problem with drift between busses is a known vegas bug. Does
anyone know if this has been fixed in VV 2.0?

Don't know about the static you describe. I'd have to guess that it
would be a soundcard driver issue, or samplerate clock issue.
