Steampowered Vegas Pro 18 not launching (Please Help!!!)

My copy of Vegas Pro 18 on steam will not launch regardless of folder location, uninstall/reinstall, administrator or permissions.

 

I get error code 740 which I will further show in an attachment below this. But I do not understand this issue, The program just stopped working and I have 0 solution I would appreciate some incite on the issue.

 

If you have any other questions in order to look into the issue please do not be bothered to ask, I am stumped and have spent all day on this.

Error code 740 does not seem to be a Vegas Pro error code; rather, based on searching the internet, it is likely to be a Windows security issue particularly relating to Windows 7. Is your computer still on Windows 7? If yes, do a search of the internet for error code 740 for possible resolutions (most posts are from around 10 years ago) and have a look at this YT post from nearly 9 years ago re 740 to see if it helps:

Otherwise, you may need to contact Steam Support.

I will look at your video shortly after posting this, I have contacted magix support but not steam… that was a possibility I over looked.

EDIT: the video was for windows 7 and has come up short... I have no further idea on how to fix this. I am going to shoot an email out to steam support but if anyone on the community could provide the answer the would really help because I do not under stand this issue and why I am all of a sudden the only one who has it.

 

FINAL EDIT: SOLUTION HAS BEEN FOUND! so I went to the vegas180.exe file and troubleshot for issues, I tried recommended settings and it launched. I do not know why it stopped working in the first place but I am happy to have it back... thank you to everyone who helped I appreciate you.

For a clue, what do you do after found the vegas180.exe file?

So I right clicked vegas180.exe

Troubleshoot compatibility

try recommended settings

and then boom launched perfect!
