sticking video playback

New to the video creation software and creating movies. I'm using Sony Vegas Movie Studio ( Platinum ). It comes with the DVD architect. Every time I create a DVD movie, using DVD arcitect and mpeg format, it sticks within 15 seconds on every player I have in the house. After it gets past that point it runs perfect. I tried using the avi format but with the same result. What is the best format to use? I'm coaching a AAA hockey team and I use this software for video replay. It's just simple editing with the odd slow motion. Has anyone else had this problem?

A quick guess would be to render your DVD project to hdd, and try it there using Power DVD or similar... If it plays well, burn to DVD using ImgBurn (or Nero etc.), & test. If it plays well on your PC, but nowhere else, I'd look at media & burner. If it doesn't play anywhere, look at media.

Loads of info on media on-line. Nero Speed (free) lets you check the accuracy of most drives. For many, myself included, slower burning speeds (i.e. 8X) makes a big difference.

RE: Format... have to stick to specs so not really much of an issue -- you'll have mpg2 video no matter what.

Thanks, I'll try that. I've also changed the media to make sure it wasn't the blanks. I had a spindle pack from a while ago.
