STILL IMAGE quality not that good, WHY?

VV users,
when i capture my DV footage i sometimes use the STILL IMAGE capture to grab some nice scenes but when i play back the footage it looks so bad, not like original footage. Any suggestions. I am capturing them as still images...

What size is the preview window in VidCap? The stills are captured at whatever size the preview window is. If you're zoomed out to 50% then the stills will only be half size. Make sure the window is 100% for stills. It also helps if you set the option to "deinterlace when capturing stills".

Might want to check your pre-view setting. Did you take a look at the still with another program to compare? If the pre-view setting is on draft the stills and video will look real bad in the pre-view window.
