Still images jumping

I'm trying to put together a corporate video for my husband. He has a few stills that seem to jump when playing the rendered video. What could be causing this and how do I fix it? The only thing I can think of is maybe the still image itself is to small. It's his company logo that we scanned. It's about 381 x 146 pixels or 2.540 x 0.973 inches. I'm up against a deadline, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Okay, just one more quick reply, then I really am going to bed. (Of course, this comment won't make sense because the three posts I just replied to are in reverse order, and this last reply is probably the first one everyone will read...)

If the logo has light colored, fine detail in it, then you are probably seeing "interlace flicker" -- especially if it looks worse on your TV than it did on the computer.

If you have VMS 6, right-click on the item, select "Switches", and then enable "Reduce interlace flicker". This should help. Also, this will help things look smoother if you are zooming in or out on the logo.

To make it look good in VMS, make sure your preview window is set for "Best" quality. Note that this might make your preview run much slower, but the image will look better. Also, this setting does not affect how your rendered video will look, just how it looks while editing.

Good luck. Now I need my sleep...
