Click on the first photo, then right-mouse-click on it and choose "select events to end".* Press G to group them. Now click on the right edge of the last picture, hold the Ctrl key down, and drag the end out to the right. All the pictures will stretch together.

* This works if that is all you have on the timeline after the first picture. If you are selecting a group of pictures in the middle of other items then you'll have to use the selection tool to select just those pictures, or click on the first, Ctrl-click on the next, Ctrl-click on the third, etc. until you have them all selected. Then G and continue as above.

That's one reason I wanted someone to create an industrial style block diagram with arrows for procedures in Vegas since some of them are not used that often and can get very complex. In other words you follow the blocks with arrows for each step not knowing what you are doing or what is happening, just the end result. Of course after a few times it will settle in and for old people it won't settle in but it would be a lot easier.

Also of note is that you can set the default length of your stills in preferences if you know in advance you are going to want 8 second stills.

Chienworks and backlit! Thanks. I tried all suggestions and they worked fine. I've uses Studio 8 but wanted a very good upgrade so chose Vegas 6 to try to do some serious video editing. Again, Thanks. Bill
