Stop Motion Effect

Hi,
I'm looking for advise on how to create a "stop motion" effect in a music video. Stop motion may not even be the correct term,basically the effect would br that some frames were missing from the video giving a jerky stroboscopic feel (kinda like previewing footage on the timeline lol)
Maybe this effect needs to be created when shooting?

right click on your video, properties, undersample rate < 1.0. 1.0 = it will play back @ video framerate, .5 = it will play back only 1/2 the framerate (not 1/2 the framerate, not slow down, it will skip frames to play 1/2 the framerate). can't be 0.

You also might want to take a look at Pixelan Creative Ease plug-in for Vegas. It contains effects like StepTime and StepMotion which can give you lots of variations on what you are looking for.
