Stop Play Problem

I search high and low for an answer to this and haven't been able to find one so I am just going to ask myself.... I have created a menu based compilation with 6 menus linked to media files. Everything works great in preview, just like it should, however on a burned DVD, when the stop button is pressed and then the disk is restarted it starts playing one of the video files instead of the main menu. I have been unable to troubleshoot it since it works in preview like I said, so it has me very frustrated. Any help?

This might be normal for your player. Many players remember where they stopped and attempt to resume from that point. On my player I have to press stop twice to get it to restart the DVD.

I think that behavior is a function of the player, not of how the disk is authored. It is actually a feature that most people want because, unlike a videotape, a disk doesn't necessarily have to resume play at the point where it was stopped. If you're watching a movie and you press stop, most people want to pick up where they left off. Some players will even do this if you turn the player off and then turn it on again. A few will even "remember" the last disk inserted and resume play when you re-insert that disk.

So, I don't think you can do anything in the authoring software to change this.

Sorry I apparently did not make myself clear, I did post after a long night of wrestling with this problem.... It is not the standard press stop once then resume action I am talking about, that works as expected. What is happening is that when I press stop twice and try to start the disk over or start the disk after powering up the player with the disk in it, it does not play the start point menu I specified, but rather plays one of the other video clips, which I believe is the last clip listed in the project overview window, but I'm not positive. On any movie disk, if you press stop twice, pressing play will restart the disk from the beginning that is the action I am looking for, but have been unable to achieve so far.... any suggestions? Could it be the layout in the project overview window? Do vieo clips have to be somewhere other than the root directory? I haven't read anything that says this, but that doesn't always mean anything. Thanks for the help.
