Stopping the curser at the now time

I'm new to Vegas and don't know where to look for the answer to my question. How do I stop the curser jumping back to the starting place? I want it to stay where it is when I hit the stop button ie the now time. Thanks.

you press enter instead of space bar and cursor will stop. you can also change the settings from preferences if you want the space bar to act as play/stop I think

It's important to note that the space bar DEFAULTS as return to starting point and you will need to enter the preferences and set it up so that it simply plays/stops

You can also use J K L... The J key reverses, K stops, and L goes forward. By tapping the J and L keys you can also speed up or slow down the play. Once you get used to using JKL, you will almost never use anything else.

Use the 'Stop' button to return to where you started from.
Use the 'Pause' button to stop where you're at.
You can also 'click' anywhere on the timeline and place it there too.
