Strange behavior with Keyframes

Most of the time I don't use keyframe automation. I usually load a clip and then add/ and test video effects on the fly (as I'm watching the video playing).

Lately, when I add effects, I can see additional keyframes added as the timeline progresses. In other words, a different keyframe for each time I add the effect or adjust it.

Then, playing back the same video clip with the effects window open, I can see the sliders move back and forth (in relation to the keyframes that were set)

I've never seen this behavior before, so I'm thinking that something is "turned on"
to automate this feature. I think ?

My guess is that you have the "Sync Cursor to Media Timeline" button enabled. It's the symbol that looks like a lock at the bottom left of the effects timeline window. Turn it off and delete all unwanted keyframes.

Thanks for the suggestion.

That seems to have been the issue. Is "ON" the default setting for the "Sync Cursor" button ? I don't believe I ever had this problem before so I'm wondering if I pressed some combination of keyboard keys to turn it on.

Good to know that was your problem.
I don't know if on is the default or not. I can say that it's one of those buttons that remembers if it was enabled or not and comes up like that the next time you open up Pan/Crop. I don't think there's a shortcut for it.
