I wonder how practical those high bit-rate codecs are when the media is SxS cards. Will the hardware upgrade also include an SSD bay? Will the upgrade cost more or less than a Hyperdeck?

Either way, that's good news that the industry just might try to adhere to a few standards.

Smart move on their part. They're going after the Arri Alexa which already records to those formats on SxS Pro cards.
