Strange Problem With Win XP / SP1

Don't know if anyone else has seen this, but I'm using VV 3.0C on a new machine (2.5GHZ P4 with 256M RAM)and Win XP Pro with SP1 installed and it's got a strange problem: if you create a Generated Text title file, the text is blocky, looks like an OCR font no matter what font you select, and it's completely out of focus. And, any kind of dissolve is also blocky and out of focus. Seems like there's no codec working, but I can't figure out why that would be. Everything else works fine.

Bizarre--anybody else having this problem?

Thanks,

Matt

Sounds like the video preview window is in draft mode.

FWIW, WinXP SP1 working good here.

I thought that JAB, above, had the answer with the draft mode preview, but that's not it.

Folks, here's the truth: when Windows works, it is cheaper and faster than a Mac, but when it goes wrong, it goes way wrong, and you're in for hours of hell trying to figure out the problem. Is it worth it? I'm beginning to wonder....

XP Pro - SP1 working so far for me also. Now that I have said that, it will probably blow up tonight :)

I came close to buying a Mac with OS X and FCP and instead opted for a homebuilt PC and Vegas . . . few regrets, but yes, utter simplicity is supposed to be one of the advantages - unless you visit an FCP forum and discover they too have problems :>)
