Stream Attributes Could not be Determined

For some unknown reason, I am starting getting the message: "Stream Attributes Could not be Determined" when I am trying to open AVI file? I checked with GSpot v 2.21 what video codec was used to make the file amd it stated it was DivX 5.0. I have DivX 5.1.1 pro codec loaded in the computer.

Any help how to be able to open this AVI project in Vegas 5.0? I was able to open it with 4.0 before but recently I lost this capability as well. I thought maybe codec got corrupted so I re-loaded it again to no avail.

Thanks guys for helping hand if you can offer one.

Spot said in another thread (http://mediasoftware.sonypictures.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?MessageID=287459&Replies=3&Page=0) that Divx changed their codec, it's not a Vegas thing. However, some peopel report it working fine for them. I recomend going into Virtualdub & convertine the file to a DV file.
