I am experiencing a challenge in adding an AVI file to current project I am working on with DVD-A. I am working with a series of AVI files that should all be similar (I am not the author of any) but one of them gives the error message under the video line when I try to preview it that "stream attributes could not be determined" while the Audio line shows proper attributes. Simliar AVI files in the series show something like "512x288x12, 25.000 fps, 00:59:32:06, XviD MPEG-4 Codec" for the video line. In my project, after adding the problem file, the thumbnail for the project appears (no image in it) and previewing it plays audio only - no video.
I am a moderately advanced amateur but have no ideas on how to correct the way that DVD-A is reading or processing this file. Is it simply that the file is trashed? It plays fine on InterVideo WinDVD 8 and on Windows Media Player - this makes it stranger that it cannot be recognized here.... Might it work OK after compiling the project?
Any thoughts would be most appreciated.
Thanks!
