Stream attributes not recognised?

I seem to have a problem when trying to import videos files with the audio in ac3 format. Vegas and DVD architect both recognise the video codec but cant recognise the audio. I have tried uninstalling both applications and erinstalling them but i still get the same problem. Does anyone else have this problem or a solution for it. Any help advice much appreciated. Thanks

Are you saying it does not automatically pick the audio file? Or it picks the file but cannot read it? If it does not pick the audio file, just drag that file to the audio box.

What happens is. All other movies i have preview fine in dvd archirect and vegas 4,0. I have tried to preview a movie which audio is encoded in ac3. Now i gound a little utility on the net which analyzes video files and tells you what encoding has been used. It tells me for this file the audio codec is ac3 but then it says that i dont have it installed!! How can that be as it comes with dvd architect! I cant even insert this video files in dvd architect beacuse it cant recognise the audio stream. It plays the video fine without any sound though. Is there something i have overlooked somewhere or is this just normal for dvd architect that it cant recognise video files where the sound is encoded with ac3 audio. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

where did you get this problem file?

The file in question is a divx encoded version of scarface which i did of scarface from my dvd. I then thought to covert it to windows media format using Vegas/DVD so that i could could watch it on my Windows powered smartphone. BUt it just doesn't seem to recognise the audio stream in vegas or dvd architect of the divx file.
