Streaming 4K60 from Youtube

In this thread: Problems with rendered bitrate Magix AVC/AAC MP4 MainConcept @stevecrye had a question about his ability to stream 4K60 video from Youtube using a streaming device connected to his TV.

I downloaded a 2160p version and a 1440p version of the subject video and did the following analysis with FFBitRateViewer.

Based on the peak and average bit rate of the 4K60 video offered by Youtube, my SWAG is that the streaming device has a 100Mbps ethernet connection or the wi-fi connection is unable to keep up with the bit rate of the video that Youtube sends.

Buy a faster internet service package will take care all of your streaming problem. I am running a 2000Mbps Upload/Download hardwired to devices, and on Wifi I am getting 700Mbps. Streaming is fast even at 8K on Youtube.

@stevecrye

When I was able to get close enough to our SONY XR-55A80C TV to go to your youtube channel, I found that it was only offered 1440p60 for your content.

Using VLC (via SMB) on Google O/S, the same TV was able to play the 2160p60 file that I downloaded earlier streamed from my media server. I didn't try DLNA.

My Internet service provider supplies gigabit download speeds, though my TV only has a 100 Mbps ethernet port.
