pc details?

also, have you tried a complete uninstall of vegas - there's a sony guide somewhere, and also this:

Im running it on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit though. Is that also applicable with win 7's?

i'm not too sure regardingthe reg entries, but if you do a search i think you'll find how to uninstall for win 7 as well.

btw. i'm not too sure 13 on win 7 is 'recommended' - i could be wrong though. that said, i'm running photoshop 7 on a windows 10 laptop which certainly isn't recommeded ;-)

I did all what I know with re-installing programs, didn't help much. Thanks for the help though, really appreciate it. :)

Sounds like a CTRL+SHIFT reset might help. See this thread (found via http://forum-archive.magix.info/search.asp ):

Did this, and the one which puts "X" in plugin folders. Didn't worked out. :(

This is a rare case where you could try uninstalling the Sony version 453 and installing the MAGIX version 545 which you are also licensed for. Some plugins don't work but you might not miss those if you're new to computers.

There is no proper "downloads" section for MAGIX VEGAS products yet, so I would get to the download by first going to https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/myaccount/mysoftware , enter your password, click on [Download] next to Vegas Pro 13.0, whereupon you'll be redirected to a MAGIX VEGAS sales page. There click on "30-DAY FREE TRIAL" and install that. I believe you can then enter your details to fully license it.

I haven't done that myself, so If I have got that wrong, or someone knows a more direct way to download the version 545 installer, please tell us.

Have tried this last night, I got the same error when I chose that 30-Day Free Trial option. :( Is there anything that Vegas' compatibility with video codecs? I have one installed in another video player.

Are you missing a verb before Vegas'? Don't quite understand your last sentence either.

Although it never affected Vegas for me (in the days when I used them), people say codec packs are a terrible idea.

Other than that I would suspect unusual hardware or incomplete drivers.

Try uninstalling, updating, or disabling hardware/drivers to rule it out. Software too.

I'll try that. Sorry, I was a bit sleepy when I typed that sentence :D I'll give you feedback later as soon as I got home.
