Studio Box Mark II: Complete Collection licensing question

Ementaler wrote on 11/11/2024, 1:14 PM

I recently bough the Vegas Pro 22 Suite upgrade which comes with this additional content:

  • VEGAS Pro Transition Pack (25)
  • 5 Cinema LUT Packs
  • 5 Song Collections

  • Studio Box Mark II: Complete Collection

I'm using the sound effects from the Studio Box Mark II collection, as well as songs from the Song Collections to create a videogame trailer in Vegas and I'm wondering if there are any details on the license under which these sounds are provided?

Or are we free to do whatever we want with them? Any caveats I should be aware of?

These sounds might end up being used outside of Vegas - in the videogame itself later on - would that be OK?

Thanks for your help

@Ementaler I guess you can read about the licensing by going directly to the website HERE.

I didn't install it yet so don't know what type of licensing was given since there are 3 listed, Non-commercial, Commercial (Standard), and Commercial (Royalty Free). Maybe it will be in the EULA (if there is one) when you install it?

Yeah, I went to the website to try and find some info on the licence we as buyers of Vegas Pro 22 get, but there's no info about that over there.

Good thinking about the EULA!

I didn't remember if I saw one when I installed it first, but now I tried to reinstall to check and no - there is no EULA during installation, no information on licencing whatsoever. The installer just extracts the files to a folder of your choice - without any documents or anything else that would indicate under which conditions we can use the files.

Would really love to get some info on this as the extra song collection and sound effects were a mayor part of my decision to upgrade from Vegas Pro 19 to 22.

My only suggestion would be to contact infoservice@magix.net and see what they have to say?

Hi @Ementaler, sorry for the delayed response. The audio content is provided under the royalty free commercial license of producerplanet.com https://producerplanet.com/us/eula/#commercial-royalty-free. You are not allowed to share or resell the raw media files but you are allowed to use them outside of VEGAS.

Great, thanks for clearing that out.
