What can i do with dual monitor here with VV3.
I feel kinda stupid because i hooked all this up and still don't understand how VV3 can benfeit from having 3 monitors.
i have 2 21" monitors and 1 57" ws hdtv monitor.
Could someone please explain how this can benfeit me please.....thanks
Its a matter of choice. There is a difference between spreading your desktop over two monitors and using an external monitor to monitor the effect of some filters.
Some people like to have two computer monitors. For this you need either two graphic cards or one that supports multiple monitors. It works fine in XP, should work in Windows 2000. Haven't tired it in Windows 98. With two monitors you can drag some of the items that are in undockable windows over to the second monitor.
Having an EXTERNAL monitor is DIFFERENT. This is highly recommended because levels and colors are different on computer monitors than they are on TV sets. Since much of what you'll do in the way of video is going to be viewed off a TV, it makes sense to use an external monitor. Doing so requires a firewire card 100% IEEE1394 compliant and either a black box (analog to digital converter) or a digital camera. I guess you can have all three if you want. I tired that once... for about a hour and got a stiff neck. <wink>
If you are only making DVD's or videos to be played off a computer, then you don't need an external monitor or at least shouldn't use it when making videos for that.
Guess the same as we do with the AIVDs: you put your clips and controllers on the left monitor and your time line and video preview on the right one. Pretty straight forward, don't you think?. Anyone who can afford to buy that equipment must have had an idea what he wanted it to do... How did you mount the 57" HDTV monitor?
Sorry for not filling in more about the setup....
I'm running 2k, i have a dual monitor matrox card and 1 ati card.
The matrox card is running both monitors and i'm using a DVI cable running from the ati to the hdtv.
The tv was mainly just for the fun of it, i mean come on, if you had a 57" monitor, wouldn't you play around with it just for fun?.....couldn't help myself
To be honest, i have used dual monitors before because the matrox card isn't anything new, it's a good ol G450, sucks for games but seems to work great for everything else which is fine by me but i've never used dual monitor and VV anything so this is new to me.
Not sure i understand what you mean by "mounting" the hdtv, you don't mount them, you mount plasma screens which this is not but as i stated above, i'm using a DVI cable for that hook-up.
Thanks for the input on working with it, understand VV isn't the only program i use so i have to play around with a few different ones and at the sametime i don't know the benfeits with dual/trip monitors.
In the past it was just for little things, nothing like this.
But thanks to anyone and the other that have replied to this posts, you guys rock!!!!
