stupid transition question!!!

Hi

everytime i try to put a new transition between two shots , they get separated by a black screen. I want them to blend with each other.

Do i have to create a new video track and put the transition there or...

Just slide one event partially on top of the other event. A crossfade transition is inserted at the overlap. Click on the overlap icon at the intersection and you can then change from the crossfade to any other transition.
