SubClip Question

I have been a serious Vegas user for 5 years. But I just never got around to using subclips all that much. Now, I'm beginning to see some places where subclips could be beneificial for me. So being a subclip novice, I have a question about them.

I create a clip and then say to create a subclip from it. Then I insert the subclip into the timeline. But later, I decide that I'd cut the subclip a little bit short and would like to add a second or two more to the front and/or back of the subclip. Am I out of luck? Is this a one-shot-better-get-it-right-the-first-time situation? i.e. do I need to go back to the orig clip, redefine a new subclip with more head and tail, and replace the first subclip on the timeline with the new one? Or is there some trick to modifying the subclip start/stop points after the clip has already been created?

Thanks in advance for assistance on this.

A sub-clip is but another reference to specific points in your media file. You might pull select takes as sub-clips from a larger media file. Nothing rendered anew, nothing lost from the original source material.

Right-click the sub-clip. Now choose "Open Parent Media in Trimmer", adjust the selection area as needed, and create a new subclip to use. You can the replace the old sub-clip with the new sub-clip
