Subclips never saved

Lilian-Brunstein wrote on 6/24/2020, 2:50 AM

I just bought Sony Vegas Movie Studio 17. When I save my project, close the program and open it again to continue to editing, my subclips always are changed for another part of the footage I don't want (all of them are substituted by the first portion of the movie, always). The program are not saving my subclips. I create them in the trimmer, I rename them correctly, and I dont know what else I need to do in order to have my sublips back again and saved the way I edit them. I tried several times and lost a lot of wotk. Very frustrationg. :-(

I'm not seeing that, not when I use cutted in the trimmer nor trimmed on the timeline.
Does it also go that way if you, before saving the project, select those trimmed events all on the timeline and make them by rightclick to subclips. They also show up than in Project Media as subclips

Hi j-v, thank you for your help, but I didn't understand what you wrote, I'm not a professional. If I click in my subclips with the right button of the mouse, then I do what next? This part I don't understand. Or I just need to click with the right button and do nothing after?

If you see on the picture, I selected the events (the subclips), but they didn't selected themselves automatically on media generator. Also, a window openned with many choices, but you didn't explain witch one I should choose.

Sory, this process is confusing to me. If you can explain the step by step, I will realy apreciate, I'm lost here and have experienced the same lose of my subclips over and over again. I already lost 3 days of work, I'm desperate. tks!

1. Select together all the clips that you want to save as subclip.
2. Rightclick the first one and choose "Create subclip"
3. All selected events will now being saved to subclips at once and appear in the Mediatab.

Hi again, j-v,

I did what you said, although it makes no sense to me, because they were already subclips indeed, named and apearing in the project media as subclips. And I made them with the trimmer. When I saved my file, closed and open the program again, all my subclips were substituted for my first event. This is persistant, and there is no way I can save my subclips. What am I doing wrong? Why is not working for me?

Sorry but I don't get what you are doing, when I in VMS Pl 17 do as normal has to be one with clips from the trimmer I don't get subclips in the Project Media tab unless I select those cropped events on the time line and save them as a Subclip. Do you use the trimmer the same way as I do here?
