Subtitle Quality

I am working on a multiple language DVD with subtitles. I have been experimenting with different fonts and sizes and combinations of anti-aliasing, outlines, and transparent colors. I have what appear to be good quality subtitles on the preview mode and on the external monitor, but when I burn to DVD, they look jagged. Any suggestions?

After extensive tests...I found out the perfect size and font for all subtitles; please try ARIAL, 22 BOLD and OUTLINE (ckeck that "O"). Works great, exactly like BBC's and Main Studio's DVDs. I have tested subtitles with french (lots of signs such as déjà, -là, étrangère, aïl , maïs) and brazilian softened portuguese - very close to french, lots of signs (são, também, pão, ônibus).....subtitles work great and there are no aliasing on the signs...
By the way, Is there any anti-aliasing option in the DVDA 2.0?

Even before receiving this message I had already tried some different combinations. I did Arial 24 point bold with outline. Everything else I turned off. It still looks a little grainy close up on a good monitor, but farther away or on a standard TV set, it looks great.

ps As far as an anti-aliasing option on DVDA 2.0, it is one of the attributes you can adjust. I did have it off, though to come up with what seemed to work good for me.

But I guess 24 is too big...Why don't you prefer 22? and please...JUST FOUND OUT THE OPTION FOR ANTI-ALIASING :) So you can adjust it too! Great. It's located among <PROPERTIES> on the right...
