Subtitles error - special characters

I'm trying to import my subtitles to DVD Architect and they appear with errors where there are special characters, such as in Spanish, Portuguese and other languages. I had to convert my .srt files to Sony DVD Architect .sub files, and by doing so I managed to import the English subtitles, but all the other languages are coming with errors.

So I would like to know what can I do to fix this! I'm using Subtitle Edit to convert the subtitle files, so perhaps there's something I can do there? Or directly in DVD Architect... I have no idea, please help!

I already tried to convert the .sub file to UTF-8 using this software: https://subtitletools.com/convert-text-files-to-utf8-online as suggested in one of the posts, but it didn't work!

Try setting the encoding to 1252 (Western Europe) in Subtitle Edit and the format to "Sony DVDArchitect w. line#"
