Successful Rendering of AVCHD?

I know I have mentioned this before, but I want to know if anyone has a successful alternative to rendering 1080p AVCHD files in Vegas Studio Premium? This has been very frustrating because we are waiting for Sony to fix the bug, but in the meantime, I would like to take advantage of Vegas Studio's transitions and other nice features. I would like to hear from those who have been able to use a good workaround. I want to be able to retain the 5.1 audio.

Since no one has responded to you by today, Feb 3, maybe you can help me. I am having problems completing a bluray movie using VMS Platinum with AVCHD files. The program reaches a point and stops. Sometimes I get an error message, not always the same, and sometimes I do not. Sometimes it stops during rendering the video, and sometimes it stops during rendering the compilation, etc.

You mentioned a bug. Maybe you could refer me to information about the problem Sony is trying to resolve. Here's hoping we get a resolution soon.

Yes, there is a bug in Vegas Studio Platinum 9.0b in that the program will hang/crash while attempting to render AVCHD files in 1080p. This is a known bug and Sony is supposedly aware of it and, hopefully, is trying to come up with a patch. Apparently, rendering 720p AVCHD files works, but not 1080p. However, I refuse to downgrade my 1080p files. I find it ironic that I have a Sony HDR-SR11 HD camcorder and yet I cannot use it with Vegas Movie Studio. I think VMSP would be a great program if it would work as advertised. I've used VideoStudio 11.5 and X2 and both of them have glitches too regarding AVCHD, although the problem is less severe (the clip will skip back one frame during cuts and transitions). I was trying to find a temporary solution to rendering my AVCHD files like rendering in uncompressed AVI and then converting them to AVCHD for DVD so that they would be playable in a Blu-Ray player.

Presumably you mean 1080i?....That is what your camcorder actually outputs. You can also try 1440x1080 settings too.

Yes, I meant 1080i, but either way, there is a bug that doesn't allow a successful render to 1080i or 1080p. We are waiting for Sony to release a patch so we can do what we paid for it to do.

I had the same problem with trying to render AVCHD to certain file formats as you guys described. I turned off virus scan and video previews of my render and it seemed to work better. On my system, anyway, it seems to be an intermitant problem right now. Closing Vegas and rebooting my system to free up all availalble ram also seemed to help a bit.

A patch to repair it would be much appreciated. I have a Quad Core 2.4 gig htz, 3 gigabytes of ram, penty of hard disc space, and a decent graphics card.

Other than that glitch, I've found Vegas Movie Studio much more stable than Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate--which frequently crashes. Reviewers say it's more stable than Studio 11, but I beg to differ, I'd say it's about to say. I think Vegas is superior to previewing video effects too, it takes Pinnacle Studio a long time to background render something.

hi, just joined the forum to find out if others have same problem and bingo...I also have a sony HD sr-11 and find it frustrating not being able to create same quality movies ..tech support are not answering me, so have they acknowldege a bug..if so, as I just purchased the product to burn Bluray and it cant...I would be entilted to a refund...

anyone can help me or confirm if they were successful in rendering and burning b-r 1920X1080 ?
